Michelangelo

My Story

Michelangelo - a stunning sorrel and white pinto - is one of several mustangs rescued from an uncertain fate. Once these majestic wild horses galloped freely across the Sand Wash Basin of northwest Colorado. However, due to efforts by the Bureau of Land Management to thin herd numbers, hundreds were rounded-up from the area and later put up for auction. The Sanctuary was tasked with helping save a number of these native Mustangs, and as a result, Michelangelo and his herd now roam freely once again!  The horses have total reign across over 23,000 acres at The Wild Horse Refuge, a sprawling, natural property that mirrors that of the Sand Wash Basin.
